Today in homeroom we had a moment of silence in honor of all of the innocent people who died on September 11, 2001 due to the terrorist attacks. A girl in my class started laughing right in the middle of our moment of silence. I am honestly so appalled. To me, if you cannot even give at the least, 1 minute of your time to remember the lives of the firefighters, policemen, emergency rescue crews, search team members, and the people who worked at the twin towers; I am embarrassed for you and your lack of respect and maturity.
Now, on September 11, 2001 I was only 6 years old. Although I do not remember a lot, I remember my Mom and Dad would not let me watch television that day. I knew something was up, because I wasn’t allowed to go in the room while they were watching tv either. (Being only 6 this whole no TV thing was kind of a big deal). When I realized my Mom had been crying, and for the fact that all humans; particularly children can feed off of other’s energies. I know that it is not yet the 10th anniversary but I just figured I wanted to share my story of my 9/11 experience. It is not much and it is not anywhere near tragic like the people who had personally known someone who died on that day. But, I saw this and was really moved by it.
